So you have decided to cloth diaper your child and you’ve heard a lot about a site called “Diaper Swappers”. Your travels through the cloth diapering community have, more than likely, lead you there more than once. And, frankly, to a “newbie”, Diaper Swappers can be large and intimidating. How do you get started there? How do you buy and sell diapers on the FSOT (For Sale or Trade) forums? Are there any unspoken rules be aware of? What about spoken rules?
Here’s a small and by no means complete primer on the world of Diaper Swappers, so you don’t need to feel intimidated.
First thing to keep in mind when it comes to selling and buying diapers is it helps to not come across as too “new”. This means, you should get at least 10 posts under your belt. Getting ten posts is EASY. Find the “Extra Fluffy” or the Q&A forums and contribute to the conversation and chatter. Once you have ten posts, not only do you not look painfully new, but you are able to post pictures and links, something very helpful if you are trying to sell some of your stash.
Another thing to remember if you’re wanting to buy, sell and trade is FEEDBACK. Do you have any on Diaper Swappers? If not, in your listing (if you’re selling) or in your PM (if you’re buying), perhaps provide links to feedback you might have on other forums or on eBay or Hyena Cart. Also: it’s easier to get feedback as a “newbie” by buying versus selling. Once you have a few positive feedbacks as a buyer under your belt, you’re a lot more likely to be taken seriously as a seller. The bottom line is: people want to make sure you aren’t going to “scam” them, take their money and run. Feedback is a good assurance that you’re good for your word.
This next tip may seem inconsequential, but it can really count for a lot. Update your signature and avatar on Diaper Swappers. People tend to feel a lot more comfortable around those who have “established” themselves in the community and committed to it as well. A good way to show this commitment is to put a little picture in your avatar (maybe of you or your kids? or your favorite diaper or piece of wool?) and a few lines in your signature about you and your family. It’s an easy and recognizable way to share with people who you are. If you leave these two areas blank, you come across as someone who is just passing through, either to scam or to make a quick buck. And those sorts are generally avoided, if at all possible.
When trying to sell, you have to pay close attention to your listing. Make the title of your post descriptive of what you’re selling (and be sure to put it in the proper forum… don’t try to sell pocket diapers in the fitted diaper forum!). Describe the items you’re selling as thoroughly as you can, and be sure to mention any stains or issues. This isn’t the time to gloss problems over. Put up pictures! A lot of people try to avoid pictures, or even link to their Photobucket accounts. You get a LOT more response when you actually post the pictures in the thread. And if you’re uploading to Photobucket, it’s SUPER easy to copy over the image links to Diaper Swappers. There’s no excuse not to! Get good pictures of the outside of the item (and the inside too if it’s a diaper) so people can see what it looks like. Use pictures that are at least 400 pixels wide. Smaller than that and people can’t see the details as well! Also: PRICING. I know it’s tempting sometimes to try to get the most $ for your used items. But if you paid $35 for a diaper and used it three times a week for the last year, do not expect to get over $20 for it. People like to shop FSOT in hopes of getting good deals. You’re going to get better response if you offer a good deal. Cloth diapers are GREAT for getting money back when it comes time to sell, but keep in mind you are selling something USED and price accordingly! Look around on the forum where you are hoping to sell and see what similar items are being listed at. That should give you a good idea of how to price your stuff!
Most of all, be courteous and respond to PMs right away and BE HONEST. Before long you’ll be an old pro!
For more information on protecting yourself, check out this announcement from the mods at Diaper Swappers.

I’ve bought most of my diapers from diaperswappers and while it take me while to figure out how everything worked once you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy. I recommend DS for anyone interested in cloth diapering. Especially if you want to try different options but don’t have alot of money.
I think it’s important to inform people that you are potentially sending to DS about the CONTINUED problems with DS giving computers viruses. And the fact that little is done to protect users from scammers and bad FSOT’ers.
The advice in your post is great… except for choosing to use Diaperswappers. I was an active DS member for a long while and finally left due to virus and scamming issues. There are better sites available for like http://www.hyenacart.com (Spots Corner for used items) and http://www.clothdiapernation
For folks who might be considering DS I suggest you check out http://thedramaofdiaperswappers.wordpress.com/ so that you can be prepared. I still use DS for FSOT, but I do so with a high level of caution.
http://www.clothdiapernation.com
Sorry, I put the link incorrectly in my first comment and was correcting it.
No diapers are worth losing your computer to viruses. It happened to me twice because of DiaperSwappers before I wised up and stopped going there altogether. Now that I’ve wiped my hard drive clean and reformatted it, I’m not going to risk it again. If it got through my ironclad antivirus protection, I’d consider it pretty malicious, and I don’t think it’s fair to not warn your readers about this when they read this post. It happened to many, many other mamas too, who also stopped going there. The owners of the board claim it is clean, but the virus is still infecting members to this day. Thankfully we have a new board where we can talk about and sell our diapers without fear!
http://www.clothdiapernation.com
Diaperswappers has a large membership & thriving FSOT, but their rules tend to favor scammers getting away with it over mamas trying to find affordable diapers. Add the rampant virus issues & the owner denying there’s a problem & telling mamas they’re just stupid & can’t operate a computer, & it’s not worth it. There are better places to b/s/t & learn about cloth diapering.
http://thedramaofdiaperswappers.wordpress.com/
Good site to keep up on the latest scammers.
While I greatly appreciate all the FSOT tips, because they are useful at any site where you buy privately, it should be included that Diaperswappers has many negative points. What the ladies said above is true. Viruses and malware run rampant, then they are fixed for a short time. Problem is that the almighty dollar in the form of ads is the priority at DS. Between that and the FACT that they protect scammers and sweep those problems under the rug are all reasons to be very wary of DS.
Those who have mentioned CDN http://www.clothdiapernation.com
are not doing it to spam. They mention it because it is a site where so many of us who have been burned by DS have ended up. I am a mod there, and I can reassure you that we out scammers, publicly so that all can know who to watch out for. Granted, our FSOT is not as big as DS, but it is growing and will continue to grow as more people realize that DS is not a safe lace to be.
Buying a few diapers is not worth your hard drive being destroyed (not to mention things like all your pics) or being scammed and no one watching out for you! Oh and one more…at CDN we let you speak like an adult, no censoring, deleting posts or hand slapping!
Great info!
I read the comments and wanted to say that I have been on DiaperSWappers for years and never “caught” a virus, or had issues with my computer.
I see woman posting that they are having issues, many respond saying they never do. I think a few of the ones that do get a virus are actually regular posters on above mentioned sites. Perhaps, diaperswappers is not the only place to pick up a virus?
I also don’t get why people say diaperswappers doesn’t help stop scammers? I thought they don’t allow actual outing because of the drama that boards get that do allow outing? I thought they have a zero tolerance policy for catty or drama-ish behavior?
I know that when I had a FSOT transaction go wrong, the moderator involved spent time tracking down the member that took my money and ended up getting my money back for me. That member was then banned.
I see cases all the time in the transaction and feedback forum that get resolved by those working to keep diaperswappers running smoothly.
I for one, won’t visit CDN again. I went and saw vicious posting on the forums. What I was reading was downright mean. What wasn’t mean, was full of profanity and sexual comments. The only excuse for it is lack of character. Call me loony, but that’s not the kind of people I want to BST with. I don’t want to hang out online with them either. This is just my 2cents worth though.
I find *most* of the comments here to be completely true. DS is a sespool of viruses and scammers. I loved DS until while browsing one day (mind you I had never been to CDN, nor did it exist at this time, so my problems dont stem from there), and a pop up came up on my screen, I went to close it, HUGE mistake!!! My entire screen was full of thumbnails of hard core PORN!!! PORN!! I did not ask for this to come into my home, nor was a I looking. When I am many others complained about this, we were told it was not from DS, yeah right. Not only is DS infested with malware, adware, and viruses, do a search on the internet for unsafe sites, and guess who pops up in red flashing letters???? You guessed it DS!!! The PP poster while I feel bad for her, is completely wrong about CDN. CDN is a great place to hang out, where ADULTS are allowed to say what they want, and are held accountable for it. There is no pussyfooting around. The FSOT is growing, and while I at one time loved DS, I will never go back. The Owner, nor Admin actually cares about its members, it is all about the bottom dollar. So if you want to take that chance go for it!!! If not, find a better place to FSOT.
DS does have viruses. i visited the site and lost my computer and well over 400 of pics. stay away
The viruses were picked up at diaperswappers more then one time, my computer literally kicked me off that site with a virus alert. They do protect scammers since the no outing rule means no one else knows if a buyer is also ripping also other buyers at the same time. Which does not happen at CDN since they out the people, they know are causing problems. Lesson learned DS caused me to have to do a destructive system restore and lose everything on my computer at that time.
I have been attacked by malicious software on the DS site numerous times with no doubt of the origin. I also know that scammers are protected and mods definately have their favorites. For that reason, I joined Cloth Diaper Nation where everyone was reported to “have big girl panties”. I appreciate that the mamas there call it like they see it and do not harbor theives. The spirit is very well intentioned. However, it is not a site that I personally (just for me) can frequent. The language and sexual innuendo is really over the top. The smilies are pretty vile as well. Now, I understand that perhaps I should put on my big girl panties. But at our house our computer is in a common area for everyone’s accountability. CDN is not a site that I am comfortable visiting in the company of my children. While it is a great alternative for many, I just wanted to inform any folks out there to be prepared. It is certainlly not, nor does it claim to be, kid appropriate.
The dirty smiles are not allowed outside of the opt in areas. Do mistakes happen and some ladies get carried away and forget where they are posting? Yes, nobody said they didn’t. But it is not all the time. Most of the posts in the open areas are specifically family friendly. If you don’t want to see the sexual stuff, don’t opt in to the dirty forums.
My computer has been attacked twice now, by DS. I have screenshots of the virus alert (with only DS open in my browser), and it is connected to Lee’s little advertising business… the name was right in the filepath of the virus!
Ever notice when you search for something online, and all of a sudden all the ads on DS are pertaining to what you just searched for? That is because DS uses spyware and other malware, because the owner loves his $$$ and little else.
CDN has NEVER had a problem with viruses, in the almost year I have posted there regularly. They protect their members from scammers, unlike DS where everything is swept under the rug and all it takes is an IP blocker and a new screenname for them to be back in a weeks time. Meanwhile, people who callenge the “authoritaaaay” of the power-tripping admin and mods, get warned or even banned, with no prior “real” offenses.
The ONLY thing DS has going for them at this point, and what keeps them going, is the huge FSOT and WAHM Wares section. Oh, and the ignorant members who have no CLUE what is going on or how the board is REALLY run, and whom are too scared to say anything for fear of banishment.
$20 says Just Me is a DS mod or admin… or maybe even LEE himself!
I had no idea so many had with getting a virus while on Diaperswappers. I have seen maybe three or so threads on the forums and that was it. Looks like a lot here have had trouble. I wonder why I haven’t? Maybe it is my browzer? Somebody needs to post a poll to see how many have been infected
Just Me, even if someone posted a poll, at DS, mods would pull it. It looks “bad” on Lee, and we mustn’t hit his precious ad money.
There’s one big difference between CDN and DS that is NOT a matter of opinion – DS’ purpose is to make $ for Lee, and CDN is run on a completely volunteer basis. That means that CDN Admin don’t get paid to run the site. Does Lee? Of course he does, otherwise he wouldn’t be doing it.
I’d much rather belong to a site where the owner and admin are personally invested, rather than just “Investors”.
There are hundreds of people who have been infected with virii and malware from visiting DS. We are not all “stupid little women’s”; some are computer techs or software techs themselves who have helped isolate the problem stringently. It might be slanderous to accuse DS of deliberately hosting infected adware.. except that truth is an absolute defense.
I have had malware screw with my macintosh from going on DS, and that’s really rare. The thing that sickens me is that the owner of the site HAS to know. It’s been going on for so long now.
& how about the time he said we were all just a bunch of computer-illiterate mommies who probably clicked on something bad by accident somewhere else? That was the end of my tolerance for that site & his attitude. If everyone’s anti-virus software goes off when they click on DS, it MEANS something.
Just me… DS was having virus problems before CDN was even created. If CDN is not for you that’s okay, there are alternatives.
My intent was not to spam CDN, but merely to inform other cd users that there ARE alternative forums. And to let people know about the problems with DS. As far as the viruses go LEE (the owner of DS) admitted that there WERE viruses. He said they had been taken care of… but they weren’t. DS does protect scammers. Many of the mods are power tripping. What about the incredibly inappropriate half-naked ads that were all over DS?
Potential DS users should be warned about these issues and informed that there are numerous alternative sites. DS is not the only cloth diapering site out there and it is certainly not the safest.
Diaperswappers is, unfortunately, a great place to learn about cloth diapering, buy and sell cloth diapers…pick up a few viruses and get scammed. If you run good anti-virus software, firefox, block the ads and are really careful with your buy/sell/trade, diaperswappers is worth a look. Clothdiapernation is newer, and so doesn’t have as many people, as many resources, or as many b/s/t opportunities. BUT, if you ask, both places have lots of great mamas that are happy to help you if you need anything…just ask!
Chrissie’s entire post is right on for me.
I would recommend Hyena Cart’s Spots’ Corner for a place to check out used diapers, and more.
I agree with you MajKitab. I would rather send people to Spots than to DS for buying.
I have been on diaperswappers for over 3 years and in all honesty these post have GREATLY embellished things.
If you check out that ‘drama of diaper swappers’ site http://thedramaofdiaperswappers.wordpress.com/, you will quickly see that this is a group of very spiteful, vindictive, disgruntled women (many of them have been banned from diaperswappers might I add) that gather together to intentionally cause trouble for diaperwappers. They sit around all day long waiting for something to pounce on and post hundreds of comments using vile language for hours. I have to wonder where their kiddos are when they are busy posting their profanities all day long?
Please, before making any decisions, just check it for yourself and you will quickly see that ALL of these negative comments have come from people on their site. (they like to plan these little attacks on diaperswappers as a group as you will see). I sincerely hope that diaperswappers will look into suing the website for harassment and slander.
Now, to set the TRUTHFUL record straight on diaperswappers. As with Ebay, you should always check the sellers feedback, the length of time they have been a member and even their posts before just jumping in a transaction. If you are ever in doubt, you should contact a moderator to ASK if you are unsure about it. USE common sense. That site has well over 70 THOUSAND members. They have VOLUNTEER moderators that dedicate A LOT of time to help keep scammers OFF their site. From what I have always seen, they do the best they can to keep their site as family-friendly as possibly. They do not want drama and scammers.period. I am glad they do all they can to make their site as safe as possible. I do NOT recommend cloth diaper nation as many of them are the rejects and current members of the drama site.
As far as viruses go, I have reason to believe it is yet another tactic to try to discredit diaperswappers. In over 3 years I have absolutely NEVER had even one attempt of a virus from their site. I have used 3 different computers at times to access their site and never once have I had a problem. I do use firefox and I do have virus protection, but it has never notified of anything going on. I suppose anything is possible, but coming from this group of women I have to think that it’s yet another tactic of theirs.
Please read the sites and use your own judgement.. diaperswappers.com is awesome and I have met the nicest people and bought some amazing diapers at great prices!
Thank you for the valuable information regarding FSOT on ANY site.
That being said, DiaperSwappers is infested with viruses. Every time I go there, even to this day, my top-of-the-line computer protection software popped up that I was attacked by a worm. Go figure.
The viruses, however, are not what made me leave DS. The reason I left, is because every time some one tries to speak her mind, even in a respectful manner, our posts are censored by the Mods/Admin, and are either edited or deleted altogether. You will see very little of this confrontation on DS, because when mamas try to get answers, posts are deleted, and we are PMed with a “warning” to not “Bash DiaperSwappers.” Wait, WHAT? If I have an issue, I am not allowed to ask about it? Crazy. On DiaperSwappers, ignorance is bliss.
For the record, I am not banned, nor have I ever been. I’m simply sick of the bull crap and ridiculous censorship DS has to offer, and instead choose to rely on other means of CD discussion and FSOT.
As for me I am banned at Ds, want to know what I did wrong? I told a WAHM that I wanted all my order not bits and pieces. That WAHM threatened to sue me. I got banned. She did not according to herself. Yeah, protect me from a scammer by letting this woman short my order and how dare I say anything. Never got the item order. Had an issue with a WAHM at CDN, they had a thread about her. She was asked why the orders where not getting to the locations. She was called on it and promptly my order was resent with extras and so were all the other orders involved. Which is better? Upto you to decide.
Sorry, have to catch my breath from LOLing.
I’ve been a member of DS for over 3 years myself
I am a member in good standing with over 200 perfect feedback and have NOT been banned – ever.
Taz, tsk tsk. Leave people’s children out of it. Stay klassy *rolls eyes*
The TRUTH is that people should check out multiple sites – Spot’s and HC, CDN, DS, MDC, BW, DP – and decide which ones don’t harm their computer or their wallet.
I personally endorse CDN because I both know and respect the Admin there and have observed their policies relating to outing scammers and watchguarding their members. And that speaks for itself. Rock on, CDN!
Hi there Lee…*cough* I mean “Taz.”
I have been a member at Diaperswappers for quite some time and the above comments are unfortunately accurate. There is a thriving FSOT but there are also viruses and scammers all over the place there. It had nothing to do with CDN or the drama site, or any other site, it is just a simple fact. It is a great place to get info on cloth diapers and I have never been scammed there but is does happen. Often.
Wow Taz. Just wow. It’s okay that you hate DODS (although that site does more than DS to keep the scammers on DS in check) and CDN, but to imply that DS has no problems is just wrong. Other mamas need to be informed about the issues so that they can protect themselves.
I am the one who brought this post to the attention of the blog. I didn’t do it because I had a spite against diaperswappers (I still enjoy going there on occasion and I’m still involved in FSOT on there). I did it because I wanted new mothers to be warned about the problems that go hand and hand with DS.
CDN is not filled with banned DS members (I was not banned) it is largely filled with women who got one too many viruses from the site or were scammed one too many times on DS.
As far as the viruses go, anyone who tries to say they don’t exist is either a) crazy, b) delusional or c) working for/with DS. LEE THE OWNER himself admitted there were viruses, he claimed they were fixed, they were not. DS shows up red on Web of Trust. There are women who have SCREEN SHOTS of the pop ups while DS was the only thing up in their browser. I’m glad you like DS, but that doesn’t make the viruses, the inappropriate ads or the scamming untrue.
If it weren’t for the constant attacks on my computer, I’d go back to DS, even with all the drama and whatever. This site just isn’t worth risking my computer on, though, and it’s not just me and some disgruntled group of blog people. There’s a reason this site shows up as red in firefox’s web of trust, many many people have had to rate it as dangerous to have that rating. People who have had no problems, well, just keep on being oblivious – that’s what I did and thought I was above it until DS stated to make my computer act badly every time I went there. There are worms on that site, virus software finds them & notfies you but even good software can be fooled once in a while. People’s computers have been destroyed, people have lost huge piles of pictures- just think of trying to reconstruct your hard drive from scratch.
What I don’t get is why the owner of the site tries so hard to keep this tight-fisted rule of so many aspects, tries to do damage control by posting anonymously (or sending his minions to post) on blogs & stuff but yet doesn’t seem to understand that he’s driving away site users in packs BECAUSE HIS SITE KILLS COMPUTERS. We’re not THAT dumb, when it’s always DS that sets off the virus warnings it’s DIAPERSWAPPERS that is the problem.
Do you all really think people are blind and cannot read your blog? Maybe you think they are just stupid and can’t put two and two together? How insulting you think that people don’t have enough of a brain to read all the vomit you ladies spew and then figure out that you all came here for one reason. You all are grown women with children. Have you no shame or tact at all?
It’s hard to know exactly on the viruses since everything else your “group” spouts off is nothing but malicious attacks. If you all want respect and people to take you seriously, grow and have some class. Stop all the cursing and slandering and acting like teen girls that are having a party with mom and dad out of town. All I can do is say from my own experience, I have not EVER had a problem with viruses on their site. I did have one incidence of something from the hyena cart site. I’ve never been back. If you all are also frequenting that site, or any other site regularly for that matter, you may want to get it straight where you are really picking up the viruses (if it’s indeed true). Like I said, it’s hard to know what is the real truth with the way you all have represented yourselves on that blog. The blog owner will not even reveal her identity. I am sure she has to be embarrassed at her own behavior is why she hides. You girls talk about wearing grown up panties all the time, DO IT.
Carry on.
Taz, your feelings about the blog aside (yes yes we’re all terrible mothers, yes yes evil whatever)… DS DOES HAVE VIRUSES. There’s no denying it. The owner has admitted it. I’m sorry you live in fantasy land, but ONE MORE TIME: LEE HAS ADMITTED IT. He claimed it was fixed BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING.
And what about this: http://www.diaperswappers.com/.....p?t=837393
Oh and for safety’s sake, the link above is to DS. So don’t go unless you have tons of firewalls/anti virus in place.
Taz, did you get outed for being a scammer? Or being a WAHM that really shouldn’t be? You seem a little bitter.
Taz…which I am sure is Lee or one of little minions….I am not from the blog so stop referring to us all as nasty blog members with nothing better to do, I am a mod at CDN. Yes many of our members are former DS members, yes many were banned (very rarely for a good reason I might add), but so what? These people are smart enough to care about their computer, it is an expensive thing to replace or fix, so why would anyone with half a brain choose to stay there?
Funny that you had one little problem at Hyena Cart and will never go back, but hundrends have proven that they got a virus at DS and it doesn’t seem to phase you. But whatever, you have been warned, and when you get hit with a virus from there don’t come crying to anyone. Just go run to Lee (not a far run since you already seem to have your nose up his rear), although it won’t do you any good, he does not give one bit for any of DS members, he is only about his pocketbook.
Oh and to your comment about having been at DS for 3 years…yeah so was I . I actually was there pre Leee when it was a great board owned by Mama Jo. It used to be a great place, but those days are over. No community can be great with that much censoring, deleting any dissenting opinions, hiding away problems with scammers and not letting it’s members know who to look out for. That is not a community that is a not a place that cares about the people who are part of it.
Applauds ZosiasMama. I haven’t been at DS terribly long THIS time, but I was a long time cloth diaperer (put it this way, my daughter is 7) I was at DS way back when, before Lee took over, it wasn’t like it is now. There weren’t virus warnings everytime you turned around or nearly naked ads in the sidebar.
Nice try “Taz.” I don’t go to the blog so you can’t lump me in with all the terrible neglectful mothers there. Gee what an original insult…we’re on the computer so of course that means our kids are busy throwing themselves out second story windows and shaving the cat. Want to know what mine are doing? The oldest is in school, and the youngest is sitting here on the floor banging his blocks together. HORRORS!
FOr someone who likes to rant about how immature and hateful us “vile women” are, you sure have a lot of pent up rage yourself. Are you Lee, or are you one of his many brainwashed henchwomen that he has stuck up his butt? Come on, DS is just a website. Why do you care so much what people say about it?
Wow this was an interesting read. Well if anyone has made it this far down the page I’d like to say that I’ve only been a member of DS for a few months and I bought 95% of my future newborn diapers there. I got great deals and am very happy with all my purchases. I knew none of these issues at all, this is the first I heard.
While i will agree the flab/cellulose ads are a bit disgusting, i see them elsewhere on the internet and choose to ignore them.
This only thing that bothered me slightly is that I made 20+ purchases and have less than 10 feedbacks. So people aren’t as good about that for buyers. The main reason I care is that I will probably resell my newborn stash at DS and although it’s only buyer feedback I imagine it will help me sell when the time comes.
For the virus issue I’d recommend using Kaspersky Lab Virus protection. Lately I have found that a lot of ads at various sites have virus issues. Kaspersky always lets me know.
It’s been said before, but the only person spewing vile hateful LIES here is Taz, who I assume is the owner of DS. Or a stupid unpaid minion.
I liked DS, even with all it’s flaws. And dang, that drama blog brought in traffic to watch the train wrecks at DS, they shouldn’t mind it. Good lord, what is wrong with those morons if they don’t get the psychological benefits of having a pressure release valve for the ridiculous censorship & scammer-protecting their rules bring about. Let a little blog on the side take the heat when people get all upset, they don’t allow discussions like that on DS. Lee should have set up the blog himself.
Also,I know I got sucked back into DS by going to the blog, but now I HAVE to stay off because I need to keep my computer and DS has screwed with it. It’s not a risk I could take.
Lie all you want. I’m not banned at DS, I liked the site, I just won’t go back there to risk my computer. I wish there was some way, TAZ, that people who your horrible advice hurts could get back at you. Because it will hurt people who follow it.
& can I say, I’ve NEVER heard of a virus on Hyena Cart? There are no outside ads on there, how could it happen? Did you tell the owner? No, because it didn’t happen?
I’ve been on there every day in the part 4 years, it’s part of my business, & never heard a whiff of anything like that. That alone makes me think you’re just a big ol’ spouter of hate & lies, Taz. I don’t think you’re really a person, Taz, I think you’re a character someone is playing. Disturbs me.
Taz/Lee/Minion, whomever you are, I am not part of the blog either, just a Lee hater!!
Wow. Taz’s comments are quite odd and defensive.
I can say that I am a member in good standing at both CDN and DS. I have yet to get a virus but I do know a number of people who have and I take that risk when i go over to DS. Generally I go their for FSOT I find it to cumbersome otherwise. and unfortuntely I did get scammed over there to the tune of $210. The mods did try to help but when the scammer didn’t reply that was it. I go to CDN to chat and B/S/T I enjoy the company over there.
FWIW
The drama is out of hand with diaperswappers and all thanks to the drama of diaperswappers blog. Or Diaperswappers Drama blog.
Which by the way is no longer a secret. LM Is the 2nd owner (DRAMA TROLL) and the identity of the first has yet to be revealed.
Here’s a site that is uncovering the mystery stone by stone
http://www.dramaofdiaperswappers.blogspot.com
“If you check out that ‘drama of diaper swappers’ site http://thedramaofdiaperswappers.wordpress.com/, you will quickly see that this is a group of very spiteful, vindictive, disgruntled women (many of them have been banned from diaperswappers might I add) that gather together to intentionally cause trouble for diaperwappers. They sit around all day long waiting for something to pounce on and post hundreds of comments using vile language for hours. I have to wonder where their kiddos are when they are busy posting their profanities all day long? ”
I totally agree with this…I had an issue with DS and so went there to see what it was about, and was amazed at how mean their some of their comments were. I think DS has a lot of issues, and one of them is the Mods get to rule the roost. When there is an issue, I think it should be dealt with by the two parties, and when a mod gets involved, they take sides and make the other feel like they’re on trial. This is not fair. They rant about ‘having communication is the key’ yet they won’t answer emails to board and mod issues. This IMO is contraindictory. Also, there are a lot of scammers on there, buyers and sellers a like. There are sexist ads and viruses (thank god I haven’t gotten any). I really like Cloth Diaper Nation because it’s a smaller board and there are no ads and also Hyena Cart. I will continue to use DS but only VERY periodically. WAAy too much drama…we are WOMEN not girls, and I have found that HC and CDN are the only places to find alike characters
I was a member of DS for 3 years, visited everyday, met people in my area through the site…cloth diapered my boys using it as a great resource…and then BAM…I got a virus one day while on there (I am educated in computer technology so I am not your average net surfer..I still have 3 screen shots of my browser, DS and my email account the only thing active in all 3)
I spent 6 hours cleaning my computer up, but luckily no other harm was done. I believe it’s the ads…seems the more they add, the more problems the members have.
Scammers aside, that is a case to case basis that NO ONE can control 100% of the time…these viruses need to be dealt with.
I posted a warning [of the virus] in my signature along with my sudden resignation….I was curious one day and logged on to see if “The DS Gods” left it(and was almost attacked again during the 3 minutes I was on)…Nope…they deleted it all.
