Cloth Diaper Mamas is about, quite simply, mamas who cloth diaper their babies. Some of us are new to cloth diapering, some are not. But all of us are excited about it and want to have a place where we can talk about what is on our minds and to share our experiences with other mamas out there who use cloth diapers or who are curious about it.
Marilyn - I am new to the business of cloth diapering. If you had asked me back when I had my first son in 1999 if I would consider switching to cloth, I would have told you that you were insane. I think the notion of the laundry is what daunted me. Plus, poopy diapers sounded pretty scary. Would it be too much hassle? I didn’t want to find out. Then, I had to pump breastmilk for my second child for ten solid months. And I got to thinking after my third child was born, “If I could do that for my child, why couldn’t I at least try cloth?” I won a starter pack of gDiapers and my interest was piqued. And you know what? Cloth diapering is FUN. Who knew? I’ve found that I’m really excited about it, passionate about the process and interested in the business of cloth diapering as it continually develops newer and more efficient technologies. What does that all boil down to? Cloth Diapering: I dig it. I want to write about it. So I’m here. You with me?

Brit – Can’t figure out how to insert a picture of herself because she is not so smart but she can ramble at length (and tends to) on many topics including cloth diaper. Which she knows very little about, though she does in fact use cloth diapers. Brit tends to rely on her friend Leah’s need to research everything, to keep her informed and so rarely has to think for herself on many topics, not just cloth diapering. I don’t mind using cloth diapers and it makes me feel like a good person(which I’m not, just ask my family) if you are interested in cloth diapering this is the place for you to at least start from! There are hundreds of cloth diapering websites and forums, we’re just here to help you find the one that fits you.
brit can be found blogging daily over at Running Stitch where she talks about all the rain in the pacific Northwest, some sewing, some little boys, some crafting, some rain, some running and did I mention the rain?
Brittany -Started cloth diapering in March 2008 because it looked like fun (a big pile of stinky, pee-soaked fun, but fun nonetheless). Britt relies primarily on bumGenius 3.0s but is trying out some various forms and techniques to keep things exciting. Her first cloth diapering adventure included a 12-pack of pre-folds, a 6-pack of vinyls pants, and a 4-pack of … wait for it… pins. Yes, pins. Britt, who is a ‘giver-upper,’ decided that if she could survive cloth diapering in the most miserable manner for one month, she would reward herself by purchasing some fancy schmancy cloth diapers. She endured, and now her son, Nicky, born in December 2006, spends the majority of his time in cloth.
(Britt’s husband doesn’t know yet how much money Britt has invested in the process, so let’s keep things a little hush, hush. What do you say?)

Leah-I have been cloth diapering for five years, and have loved nearly every poopcaked and peed on moment of it. To say I have a cloth diaper obsession maybe going a bit far, but may also be true.
I grew up in a crunchy home full of cloth diapers and so I considered it the norm, but have found many who don’t. It is my mission to convert them to cloth diapers or at least to knock them unconscious and then stick a few in their diaper bag so that they might try them.
I have two children, three if you count my husband…but he’s potty trained.
This may or may not have been written by me. And this may or may not be my picture.
(Leah supposedly has a blog or that is what she tells the cool people, she can’t remember where it is right now but when she does she might tell you)
Kait is a mom to one gorgeous girl (known online as “Kitten”), who has been cloth diapered since mid-April… Although if you ask her she’d tell you it’s been MONTHS. Time is a funny thing, no? Her first cloth diapering adventure started when her neighbour & friend started to use cloth, and loaned Kait 6 prefolds. Kait’s first diaper purchase was 2 Bummis covers, a Snappi and 6 fleece liners. In the short time since then, she’s found that she has Diaper ADD, and has been known to participate in diaper shenanigans – including make-shift diapers and home-made covers. Her motto is that she’ll try anything once!
Kait is mostly on her own with this cloth diaper thing – her husband prefers to use the easy All-in-Ones or disposables. He’s been coming around more, but is mostly excited about the potential savings from not buying the disposables (we say “potential” because lets be honest – starting up a good diaper collection isn’t cheap!).
When she’s not obsessing about cloth diapers, Kait plays a lot of video games, plays with Kitten, and hangs around with her husband Rob. She can also be found on her personal blog www.struggleandemerge.com, where she talks about anything that interests her at the moment (mostly diapers, these days!).
