If you’re the least bit obsessed with cloth diapers at the moment (*cough*), then you’ve probably heard about Goodmama diapers. First and foremost: these are fitted diapers. Meaning: they need a diaper cover if you want them to be completely leak-proof. However, a lot of mamas let their little ones roam about the house and yard without a cover. The diaper is supposedly fairly absorbent so depending on your child’s output, they could go for a while without soaking through the diaper entirely.
Another thing you need to know? These diapers are pretty cute.
I know, right? But make no mistake: these diapers are the height of chic right now. Though the website says the average diaper sells for $35 (which already makes me want to make clutch at my chest dramatically), it’s extremely difficulty to get one for that price. It requires “stalking” on hyena cart on stocking days (and if you don’t know what hyena cart is, you’re probably MUCH BETTER OFF) and a lot of luck, to be honest. You can get one here and there for $50, I’m told. Auctions for these diapers tend to go upwards of $100… or more. Yes, for ONE diaper.
I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t mind having one, just to see what the fuss is about. I’ve heard that there are Piddles Poddles that are virtually identical for much less. So maybe I’ll try one of those instead. Either way, it’s just another example of how getting into cloth diapering can be a costly and adorable obsession. I’ve seen women go nuts over these diapers, ya’ll. It’s a crazy thing.
But you’ve gotta admit they’re cute.

Personally, I prefer Little Luxe Organics over GM. Want to know my main reason? I hate the “goodmama drama.” I’ve heard too many bad things about GM customer service, and can’t stand the thought of paying $50 for a sh*t-pit.
I actually know the maker of LLX and was lucky enough to be an original tester. They’re very similar to GM’s, but Dana has made HUGE improvements including a newborn rise-setting and a snap-flap to cover tender skin. Plus, I think her patterns are cute.
Anyway, check ‘em out. And do know that there are other “chic” dipes out there.
I agree with Coty. LLX are amazing! I am deprived and only have 1
I have found a new obsession but I am tight-lipped so I can maybe snag a few before they are impossible to get! LOL! If anything buy a GM so you can enter the photo contest weekly and maybe win one hahaha.
Came upon your blog doing a google search.
I just wanted to say that, contrary to what Coty says, Goodmama customer service is PHENOMENAL. I bought a Goodmama diaper that had been used by a friend’s child. It was WELL used. I don’t know if it was my washing routine, or just the overuse of the diaper, but I noticed that one layer of the snap-in soaker had shrunk, and was pulling away from the serging and essentially creating a big rip/hole. I e-mailed GM Customer Service to see if there was anything they recommended- pull the soaker and re-serge it, use the diaper without the soaker, etc- keep in mind, this is a VERY WELL USED diaper, and I bought it that way.
GM Customer Service promptly e-mailed me back, saying that they would be happy to send me a new replacement soaker for my diaper at absolutely no cost. All they needed was my address. A few days later, I received it in the mail.
Now THAT is customer service. I’d challenge most diaper manufacturers, especially those as large, in-demand, and ‘elite’ as Goodmama, to do the same.
